Russian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Alexei Borodavkin Meets with Ambassadors of Member Countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations
On June 9, a meeting between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Alexei Borodavkin and the ASEAN Moscow Committee, made up of the ambassadors of the ASEAN member countries accredited to Russia, took place at the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Moscow.
While exchanging views on Russia-ASEAN Dialogue Partnership issues, the sides gave a positive assessment of the work being carried out to implement the decisions of the First Russia-ASEAN Summit (Kuala Lumpur, December 13, 2005) as well as the provisions of the dialogue’s basic documents – the Joint Declaration of the Leaders on Enhanced and Comprehensive Partnership, the ASEAN-Russia Comprehensive Program of Action to Promote Cooperation 2005-2015 and the Russia-ASEAN Economic and Development Cooperation Agreement. There was stated the coinciding disposition to strengthen the potential of political interaction and to expand economic, commercial and investment ties between Russia and the ASEAN countries.
A number of practical matters relating to the preparation of a Russia-ASEAN ministerial meeting (Singapore, July 23) were examined.
